This years ISAF Youth Worlds was held in Buzios, Brazil. This was the 39th time the regatta was held, it started in 1971 and was then sailed in Sweden.
This regatta is an importent step for the sailors to reach the absolute elite. Sailors like Russel Coutts NZL, Roberg Scheidt BRA, Ben Ainslie GBR and Siren Sundby NOR have all won the ISAF Youth Worlds.
The competition reminds much of the Olympics, only one crew from each country can qualify in each class. The crews also live and eat together and that creates a feeling of an "Olympic Village". This is a great opportunity for the sailors to get to know other sailors from other countries.
KSSS is very proud of the two 420 crews who managed to qualifiy to this event, Carl Johanisson and John Gustafsson and the girls team Kajsa Sundklev and Veronica Holmgren.
