ÅF Inshore Race: Three course options - great prizes
2015-06-26 - ÅF Offshore Race
The Skipper's Briefing started with a bang by the stage and the briefing for the Skippers and Crews of the 64 participating boats was short and efficient. Meterologist Marcus Sjöstedt predicted changing winds, 2-3 m/s, westerly during the morning, then turning north-west, some clouds and showers generating gusts.
Chairman of the Race Committee Håkan Andersson explained there are three course options, depending on wind direction and strength. Course Delta, 13 Nm, course Echo, 17 Nm and course Foxtrot, 27 Nm, all with the finish line by Fjäderholmsgrundet. All courses round Stora Höggarn or Furuholmen depending on wind direction, turn southeast and rounds Stinas Grund on Solöfjärden for the journey back.
First start is at 12:00 on Saturday. Then another four starts ten minutes apart. Multihull boats will start last. The competition takes place in coordination with commercial traffic. KSSS' Staffan Salén urged crews to really fight for the nice prices for the winner: an exclusive watch from Sjöö-Sandström and a large flat-screen TV from SHARP.
