Finish of Leg 9 from Marstrand
If you want to see the VO70's finish Leg 9 from Marstrand you have to go to Sandhamn in the Stockholm Archapelago. You can see the finish line from Sandhamn. The boats will come from the ocean and leave the lighthouses Almagrundet, Revengegrundet and Svängen to port and then go for the finish line at Skanskobb. Rihgt after finishing the boats will moor in Sandhamn and stay over night.
Wednesday June 17
Stockholm City Sprint - Torsbyfjärden to Skeppsbron
The VO 70's will start Stockholm City Sprint at Torsbyfjärden. This race is unik for the Stockholm Stopover and is a perfect chans for spectators to see the boats sail right into the middle of Stockholm, where the Race Village is. The course goes past Granholmen and Nacka Strand and finishes outside Race Village at Stockholms Ström. After finishing the boats will moor at the VO70 dock and the teams will go on stage for the team presentations. The start of the Stockholm City Sprint is at 12.00. If there´s no wind the start will be moved to Gåshaga. Estimated finish time is between 1 and 2 p.m.
Sunday June 21
Inport Race at Kanholmsfjärden
This is the perfect opportunity for all people who are celebrating Midsommer in the archapelago to see the boats fight over importent points in the Volvo Ocean Race. The start of the first out of two races is at 1 p.m. The races is planned to take about 45 minutes. The prize giving ceremony will take place when the boats have come back to the Race Village.
Monday June 22
Pro/Am Race
This race is new in the Volvo Ocean Race and the professional crews are mixed with guests onboard. The first start out of three is at 12.00 and the course will be adjusded to the wind so that the rounding marks will be close to land and spectators. Start and finish is at the Race Village. The points from this race does not count in the total score for the Volvo Ocean Race.
Thursday June 25
Start Leg 10, Stockholm - St. Petersburg, the last leg
The start of the last leg in the Volvo Ocean Race is situated at Kanholmsfjärden in the archapelago. After the start the VO70's will round a uppwind mark and the head out to the ocean. The course is out through the channel towards Sandhamn, at Farfars grund they head south and follows the navigable channel through the outer archapelago. if the wind is unfavourable the start will be moved outside Sandhamn to the lighthouse Svängen. The start is at 2 p.m.
