You are invited to participate in W/L-races during three days in the beginning of July. Fleet races will start on Saturday 2 and end up in a prize giving ceremony on Monday 4 July.
During this regatta we are looking forward to welcome the Express class to race for the medals of the Swedish Championship. The regatta is also open for other One Design keelboat classes with a minimum of eight entries.
During these days we also invite offshore racers measured in ORC Int, IRC Endorsed or SRS (Swedish Rating System) to sail one coastal race and two days of W/L races.
After that we are looking forward to welcome many sailors entering the Round Gotland Race starting on Wednesday 6 July. The race is open for boats measured in ORC Int, IRC Endorsed or SRS and for One Design Classes with a minimum of eight entries.
Security: ISAF Offshore Special Regulations, Category 3 Mionohulls with life raft will apply. Security control in Sandhamn at the latest in Tuesday 5 July is mandatory.
Courses: Three courses with app. length of 310, 360 and 460 NM.
Prizes: Perpetual trophies and KSSS prizes in each class. The overall winner will be the winner of the ORC Int class. Double Scoring is offered to boats, upon entry, presenting valid ORC Int and IRC Endorsed certificates.
Official speed records: 14,38 knots for multihull and 10,88 for monohull, registered at ISAF World Sailing Speed Record Council, www.sailspeedrecords.com.
Classic Yachts measured in ORC Club are invited to race a course with an app. length of 215 NM. Classic Yachts are defined as boats built in wood or metal before 31 December 1967 and remained mainly conformal to her original plans. Alternatively a replica built anytime, which is built in conformity with, or is a copy of an existing boat, or according to an original one off design prior to 31 December 1967. Race Committee decides if a boat is allowed to enter as a Classic Yacht.
A not yet decided combination of different races during the Sandhamn Race Week will be the format for the Swedish Championship for ORC Int and Class Championship for IRC Endorsed.
