Starting in Stockholm on Saturday 30th of June and Sunday 1st of July via Sandhamn-Round Gotland. Finish and prize giving ceremony will be at Sandhamn on Wednesday 4th of July.
The Royal Swedish Yacht Club, KSSS, has a long tradition in arranging international regattas and offshore races. Since more than hundred years Sandhamn has been Sweden’s most famous sailing center and the Round Gotland Race, one of the biggest offshore races in the world, was sailed for the first time in 1937. Now we are taking a great step making a new big sailing event in the middle of Stockholm. You are most welcome to join us as a participant or as a spectator either ashore or in a boat along the course in the archipelago. The event area is open for public and participants from Thursday June 28th.
We are looking forward to welcome many sailors to Stockholm entering the ÅF Offshore Race. Offshore racers measured in ORC Int or SRS are welcome. Smaller boats will start on Saturday and the bigger ones on Sunday. ISAF Offshore Special Regulations, Category 3 Monohulls with life raft will apply. Safety control in Stockholm at the latest on Friday 29th of June respectively Saturday 30th of July is mandatory as well as AIS in function onboard every boat.
Start in the center of Stockholm close to Kastellholmen via Sandhamn and round Gotland with finish in Sandhamn. Approximately length of Stockholm-Sandhamn is 43 and round Gotland 310 Nm.
Prizes: Perpetual trophies and KSSS prizes in each class. The overall winner will be the winner of the ORC Int class. Official speed records: 14,38 knots for multihull and 10,88 for monohull, registered at ISAF World Sailing Speed Record Council www.sailspeedrecords.com.
Classic Yachts are invited to race from Stockholm via Sandhamn to Visby and back on a course with an app. length of Stockholm-Sandhamn 43 and at sea 215 Nm. Classic Yachts are defined as boats built before 31st of December 1967 and remained mainly conformal to her original plans. Alternatively a replica built anytime, which is built in conformity with, or is a copy of an existing boat, or according to an original one off design prior to 31st of December 1967. Race Committee decides if a boat is allowed to enter as a Classic Yacht.
