1. Rules

1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013-2016 and the SRS rules.

1.2 Boats may in accordance with ISAF regulation 20 display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

1.3 ISAF Offshore Special Regulations Category 3 Appendix B will apply.

2. Eligibility requirements

2.1 The person in charge must be a member of a club affiliated to the National Sailing Federation.

2.2 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance.

2.3 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

2.4 Classic Yachts are defined as boats launched before the 1st of January 1968, and remained mainly conformal to her original plans. She has a hull made of wood or steel. Alternatively a replica built anytime, which is built in conformity with or is a copy of an existing boat, or according to an original one off design before the 1st of January 1968. The Race Committee decides if a boat is allowed to enter as a Classic Yacht. 

3. Entries

3.1 Entry must be done at the latest on 31st of July 2016 to KSSS and is done online via www.ksss.se

3.2 Entry Fee

  • Classic up to 40 ft: 2.400 SEK, late entry 2.600 SEK
  • Classic more than 40 ft: 2.900 SEK, late entry 3.100 SEK

The fee is paid online when entering. Entry after July 31st is to the higher fee.

4. Registration

4.1 Registration must be done at the Race Office at the latest August 11th, 09:55 hours.

4.2 Controls of participating boats´ compliance with certificate, class rules and regulations according to notice of race and sailing instructions may be done. 

5. Sailing Instructions

5.1 Sailing instructions will be handed out at registration.

18:30 Regatta dinner with prize giving ceremony at Sandhamn

6.2 Three races are planned

7. Racing area

7.1 The races will take place close to Sandhamn. Part of the races may take place over open sea (weather minima will not apply)

8. Courses

8.1 The courses will be distance courses app 1 – 4 hours

9. Protests and punishment

9.1 The races will be made according to Appendix T

10 Scoring

10.1 Low point system in RRS Appendix A are valid

11.  Prizes

11.1 Perpetual prizes. KSSS prizes in according to the number of entered boats in the class, one prize of each started five boats, not more than eight prizes in each class.

Changes in Notice of race will be published on www.ksss.se. There you can also find other information about the regatta, such as accommodation, After Sail, Regatta Dinner etc.The race committee aims to give the sailors distinctive instructions and clear information. The ambition is to use VHF for essential communication.

Mooring

Participating boats do not pay harbour fee in the KSSS harbours at Sandhamn/Lökholmen during the period of 10th – 13th of August. Harbour fee for days close to the regatta is 50% of regular price.
