1. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY
The Organizing Authority (OA) will be the Royal Swedish Yacht Club.
2. VENUE
The venue will be Saltsjöbaden, Sweden.
3. EVENT GRADING
The event is an ISAF Grade 4 event. This grading is subject to review by the ISAF Match Race Rankings Sub Committee. The event may be re-graded when there is clear reason to do so.
4. PROVISIONAL PROGRAM
4.1 (a) Registration from 2010.10.01 at 15.00 to 21.00 and 2010.10.02 at 08.00 to 09.30
(b) First briefing at 2010.10.02 at 09.30
(c) First meeting with umpires will be following the first briefing
(d) Racing days from 2010.10.02 to 2010.10.03
(e) Attention signal of the first race each day will be at 10.30
(f) No Warning signal after 2010.10.03 15.00 hrs
(g) Prize giving on 2010.10.03 after the last race.
4.2 Unless excused by the OA, attendance at the following is mandatory:
(a) Initial briefing for skippers
(b) Daily briefing, for skippers
(c) Prize giving for the first, second and third skippers and crews
5. SKIPPERS ELIGIBILITY
(a) 8 skippers will be invited. Only skippers invited by the OA will be eligible to enter this event.
(b) The registered skipper shall helm the boat at all times while racing, except in an emergency.
(c) To remain eligible a skipper shall confirm acceptance of her invitation in writing (fax or e-mail is acceptable) to be received by the date specified in the letter of invitation.
(d) When KSSS has received an entry form from a skipper who later withdraws from the event, without a special excuse, may have to count the score zero (0) as result in this event.
(e) All competitors shall meet the eligibility requirements of ISAF regulation 19.2.
(f) All competitors shall obtain an ISAF Sailor ID by registering online at www.sailing.org/isafsailor. Skippers shall inform the OA of their ISAF Sailor ID at registration.
6. ENTRIES
6.1 (a) The skipper shall be entered on completion of registration, crew weighing and the payment of all fees and deposits. Credit card or cash SEK shall make all payments.
6.2 Entry Fee
A non-refundable entry fee of SEK 2000 shall be paid by 2010.09.15 Crews pay on online at KSSS website, www.ksss.se.
6.3 Damage deposit
(a) An initial damage deposit of SEK 10 000 shall be paid at registration, unless extended by the OA. This deposit is the maximum payable by the skipper as a result of any one incident.
(b) In the event of a deduction from the damage deposit is decided by the OA it may require that the deposit be restored to its original amount before the skipper will be permitted to continue in the event.
(c) Any remaining deposit after the event will be refunded within 10 days after the event.
(d) Insurance. All competitors are required to have adequate third party insurance.
7. RULES
7.1 (a) The event will be governed by the rules as defined in the RRS, and including Appendix C. (b) The rules for the handling of boats will apply, and will also apply to any practice sailing and sponsor races. Class rules will not apply.
8. BOATS AND SAILS
(a) The event will be sailed in Elliot 6m Yachts provided by the OA.
(b) 4 boats will be provided
(c) The following sails will be provided for each boat: Mainsail, Jib, Spinnaker
(d) Boats will be allocated by the OA
9. CREW (INCLUDING SKIPPER)
(a) The number of crew (including the skipper) shall be 3, all of whom must be women. All registered crew shall sail all races.
(b) The event will be sailed in Elliot 6m Yachts and the maximum total crew weight, determined prior to racing shall be 204 kg, when wearing at least shorts and shirts.
(c) When a registered skipper is unable to continue in the event the OA may authorize an original crewmember to substitute.
(d) When a registered crewmember is unable to continue in the event the OA may authorize a substitute, a temporary substitute or other adjustment.
10. EVENT FORMAT
The event will consist of the following stages:
Stage 1: The skippers will sail a single Round Robin pitting all teams against each other once. The top 4 will proceed to the next stage.
Stage 2: Semifinals, first to score 2 points.
Stage 3: Final and 3/4 place, first to score 2 points.
(c) The OA may change the format, terminate or eliminate any round, when conditions do not permit the completion of the intended format.
11. COURSE
(a) The course will be windward/leeward with starboard rounding, finishing downwind.
(b) The intended course area will be at Baggensfjärden. Course restrictions will be shown on a chart.
12. ADVERTISING
(a) As boats and equipment will be supplied by the OA, ISAF, regulation 20.3.2 applies. Each boat will be required to display advertising as supplied by the OA.
(b) Boats shall not be permitted the right to protest for breaches of any rules regarding advertising (amends RRS 60.1).
13. PRIZES
There will be prizes for first, second, and third place.
14. MEDIA, IMAGES AND SOUND
The OA may require competitors to be available for interviews. The OA shall have the right to use any images and sound recorded during the event free of any charge.
15. COACH BOATS
(a) Coach boats shall conspicuously display identification of the team being coached.
(b) The organiser’s will not provide berths for coach boats.
(c) Any interference by a coach boat with the racing or event organisation may result in a penalty applied at the discretion of the Protest Committee to the appropriate skipper or team.
