KSSS Ingemar Sundstedt trea på upptakten inför Melges 24 VM

Två svenska besättningar deltog i Finska/Estniska mästerskapen i Melges 24. För Ingemar Sundstedt gick det bra, de slutade på en tredje plats.

This year´s Estonian Finnish Nationals have come to a conclusion here in Tallinn and in great international style. A 25 boat fleet from 6 nations had a action packed weekend with different wind directions and wind velocities varying from 6 to 20 knots. After day 1 the standings behind Uka Uka Racing and Audi here wide open.

The first race of second day started of in a northerly wind. The wind started to die and eventually the race was shortened to the second leeward mark which for most of the boats was a tacking battle. Audi ITA 783 1st and Rocad Racing SWE 532 helmed by Micke Lindqvist 2nd and Uka Uka Racing ITA 787 3rd.

The second race raced in the new fresh wind coming in from NW with a velocity of appr. 6 to 8 knots. Full race and winner Uka Uka Racing.

Coming to the final 8th race the top two was Uka Uka and Audi. The game for bronze was still partly open. Rocad Racing SWE 532 had a firm grip on it. The wind still from NW and appr 6 to 8 knots the fleet was extremely close through out the race. Audi ITA 783 wins, Uka UKa Racing ITA 787 second but third Betfair pwd by Flow FIN 742 third taking the place with a really tight battle with Lenny EST 790 and Bros JPN 809.

The winner of the 2010 Estonian Finnish Nationals are UKA UKA RACING ITA 787 helmed by Lorenzo Bressani. Silver AUDI ITA 783 helmed by Riccardo Simonechi. Bronze Rocad Racing SWE 532 helmed by Micke Lindqvist. Congratulations to all medalists!

Best Finnish boat was Betfair pwd by Flow FIN 742 taking the 4th place and the best Estonian boat was Lenny EST 790 taking the 5th place.
