Eton Archipelago Race – new feeder race to Gotland Runt
The Royal Swedish Yacht Club (KSSS) is proud to introduce the Eton Archipelago Race, a new feeder race to the Gotland Runt Offshore Race. Scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2025, the race highlights the growing partnership between KSSS and Eton, the iconic Swedish shirtmaker known for its quality, style, and innovation.
The Eton Archipelago Race is a perfect warm-up for around 40–50 boats heading to the start of Gotland Runt in Sandhamn on June 29. With over 200 yachts participating in Gotland Runt, this feeder race offers both a practical and scenic route through one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the world.
– This is a unique opportunity to race through the Stockholm Archipelago at its most stunning, says Stefan Rahm, Club director of KSSS. – It’s something international teams really appreciate and one of the reasons they come to Sweden to race.
The race uses a pursuit start format – where slower boats start first and faster boats chase from behind – ensuring an exciting finish for all crews.
That evening, the Gotland Runt Opening Party will be held on picturesque Lökholmen, featuring a BBQ, live music, and the prize-giving ceremony for the Eton Archipelago Race.
Deepening partnership with Eton
Eton and KSSS launched their partnership during Gotland Runt 2024. The collaboration brings together two long-standing Swedish institutions united by values of tradition, quality, and passion.
– We are proud to continue our partnership with Eton. Their commitment to excellence and timeless elegance fits perfectly with the spirit of Gotland Runt, says Rahm.
Eton will continue its support for the sport with a branded J/70 competing on the national circuit.
– It's teamwork that ties sailing to how we work at Eton. The Eton Archipelago Race is a context where collaboration is at the heart, and where style is allowed to take its place in a way that feels both personal and relaxed.", says David Thörewik, CEO of Eton.
