It feels fantastic to be able to communicate that registration for Gotland Runt 2021 has now opened. Make sure to secure your spot out of max 200 boats to start in Stockholm on July 4th next summer, by registering now.
As we all know, this year's (2020) edition of Gotland Runt was canceled due to covid-19. The race control announces that the preparations for Gotland Runt 2021 are in full swing and the lessons learned from this year's regattas has been considered.
"We are working with a number of alternatives where we have a clear goal - to in one way or another arrange a race around Gotland next summer", says Håkan Andersson, race officer for Gotland Runt.
There are lots of exciting things to tell about Gotland Runt 2021. The single biggest change is that KSSS is working hard to move the race harbor, from Skeppsholmen to Djurgården (both located in central Stockholm). The purpose of this is to create a more suitable event area but also to extend the use of the port and thus get a more sustainable event. More information will follow.
We also continue to work with an updated tracking- and live results-system. Many, including ourselves, were not satisfied with the solution we tested in 2019, which is why we are continuing to work on the issue of live reporting and hope to be able to present a new solution soon.
