Sandhamn
Welcome to the racing arena of the regatta! Sandhamn is the harbour of the island Sandön, located at the outermost parts of Stockholm Archipelago. All towed boats will be docked at Sandhamn.
Note that Sandhamn is a car free island. All cars and trailers must be parked at the mainland.

Sandhamn can be reached by ferry from Stavsnäs Vinterhamn (30-50 min), where parking is available (cost 200 SEK/24hrs), or from Strömkajen (2 h) in central Stockholm.
You will need accommodation at Sandhamn or close to since the ferries only operate from 07.00 to 18.00.
- Sandhamn has a wide variety of accommodation, including private rentals, hotels and hostels.
- KSSS has limited simple hostel like accommodation at the clubs’ camp facilities on the neighbouring island Lökholmen.
- For boats used as accommodation during the event please note that we cannot guarantee harbour space on Sandhamn, but we have space at the harbours on the neighbouring islands Lökholmen and Telegrafholmen.
- Lökholmen and Telegrafholmen can be reached via shuttle boats hourly.
Travel to Sandhamn
By Ferry
Waxholmsbolaget Ferries: Waxholmsbolaget also operates ferries to Sandhamn from different locations (Stockholm and Stavsnäs). These ferries are slightly slower than the Cinderella boats. The ferry from Stockholm departs from Strömkajen, located next to the Grand Hôtel in central Stockholm and takes around 2.5–3 hours depending on the route.
The ferry from Stavsnäs takes around 30–45 minutes, depending on the route. Stavsnäs can be reached by bus (SL bus) from Slussen in Stockholm to Stavsnäs Vinterhamn. The bus ride takes around 50–55 minutes.
Roslagens Sjötrafik: The ferry will match departures with the arrival of the SL bus at Stavsnäs, and the ferries run several times a day. Tickets can be purchased onboard.
Cinderella Boats (Cinderellabåtarna): high-speed ferries that operate regularly during the warmer months (spring to autumn). The trip takes approximately 2 hours.
The ferry departs from Strömkajen or Nybrokajen in central Stockholm, passing through the archipelago on the way to Sandhamn. Tickets can be booked in advance, and schedules vary by season.

If you prefer a quicker, more flexible trip, you can also take a boat taxi. The boat taxi service allows you to set your schedule and travel time directly to Sandhamn.

Marinas at Sandhamn
KSSS has guest harbours on three different islands: Sandhamn, Lökholmen, and Telegrafholmen. The islands are in close proximity to each other and have capacity for more than 400 boats. You can easily travel between them by the shuttle boat.
The main guest harbour is located at Sandhamn and is situated right in front of the iconic Sandhamn Seglarhotell. The harbour is staffed by our service personnel, who are easily recognizable in their red jackets and blue polos. KSSS offers 150 guest moorings in Sandhamn. During high season, the KSSS tender operates outside the marina to assist and guide boats to their assigned moorings.
At Lökholmen, there are approximately 200 moorings. The guest harbour at Telegrafholmen features pontoons on its northern side and provides 80 moorings for boats of all sizes.
Regatta harbour areas are located on both islands and offer ample space to keep the entire fleet sheltered between race days. Boats will be safely moored at the club, and there will be sufficient space in the marina for coach boats and official vessels. A marine service station is available in the harbour, making refueling easy and convenient.
Services at the island
The local grocery store at Sandhamn is well-assorted but petit. We recommend that you prepare with a bigger grocery shopping at the mainland. Closest ones are located at Mölnvik and Värmdö Centrum.
